Held annually at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in the heart of California’s Central Coast, Polycon is one of the nation’s longest running gaming conventions. This year will mark the 34th year of this small but formidable convention, and it’s sure to be a great one. What other convention includes an ice cream social and a BARBECUE!

I’ve been going to Polycon events for several years now, as have several other designer and publisher friends, and we always bring prototypes to test out. After seeing the success of Celestispiel, the Polycon organizers asked me if I would run a Prtospiel event at Cal Poly, so here it is:
POLYSPIEL!
What is Polyspiel? Well, its a chance for gamemakers to gather together to playtest one another’s designs, socialize, and make connections. The event will be modeled similarly to the Celestispiel events I’ve run in the past. There will be no reserved tables, lots of time and space, the chance for designers to play one another’s games, and plenty of passersby to round out the tables.
